APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FROM INDIAN MALE CANDIDATES POSSESSING EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND AGE FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF NAVIK {DOMESTIC BRANCH (COOK & STEWARD)} IN THE INDIAN COAST GUARD, AN ARMED FORCE OF THE UNION .AS NAVIK (DOMESTIC BRANCH) 10TH ENTRY – 02/2019 BATCH.

Exam Pattern :-

1. The written examination will be of objective type.

2. The Question Paper Will cover subjects Quantitative Aptitude, Mathematics, General Sciences, General English, General Awareness (Current Affairs & General Knowledge) and Reasoning (Verbal & Non-Verbal).

3. Those who qualify written examination will undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Initial Medical Examination (Preliminary). The testing procedure will take 2-3 days.

Exam Syllabus :-

Quantitative Aptitude :- This Section Will Cover Questions From Topic Like Time&Work, Time&Speed, Simple & Compound Interest, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Area, HCF & LCM, Simplification, Average, Age, Bar Graph, Pie Chart, Pictorial Graph.

Mathematics :- This Section Will Cover Questions From Topic Like Arithmetic, Ration & Proportion, Percentage, Time&Work, Time&Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Mensuration, Partnership, Average, Discount.

General Sciences :- Question of General Science will include topic related to Physics, Chemistry and Biology. based on fundamentals and day to day activities( i.e, difference between the living and non- living, basis of life – cells, protoplasm and tissues, growth and reproduction in plants and animals, elementary knowledge of human body and its important organs, common epidemics, their causes and prevention etc).

General English :- Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, filling in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc.

General Awareness :- Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc.

Reasoning :- The topics are, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Figurative Analogy, Symbolic/ Number Classification, Figurative Classification, Number Series, Figurative Series, Problem Solving, Coding & DE-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Venn Diagrams, pattern-folding & unfolding, Figurative Pattern- folding and completion, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures.
